Spring has surely arrived as cool damp mornings give way to sunny afternoons lately. All these April showers should provide a veritable carpet of May flowers in the Buttrick Garden and elsewhere throughout the Park.

With the spring weather comes a return of the annual Meriam’s Corner Exercise, scheduled for this Saturday, April 11th at 1:00 p.m.  Join us for this afternoon event to recognize the remarkable action that took place here on April 19, 1775.

The Town of Concord joined by area minute companies and fife and drum units pay remembrance to the fight at Meriam’s Corner that marked the beginning of the six-hour running battle back to Boston.

Calling all Volunteers… The annual Patriots’ Day weekend festivities are just around the corner and we’d love to have you join the fun! The Friends of Minute Man National Park will have an information tent in the vicinity of Hartwell Tavern during the Battle Road reenactment and living history events on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19. We’ll be greeting visitors, playing games, inviting guests to become members, and most all, enjoying a lively weekend at the park during this historic anniversary year.

If you have time to share with us during Patriots’ Day Weekend, we’ll be on site from 10am to 2pm each day.  If you have questions, or would like to volunteer, please contact Carrie Midura at Carrie_Midura@partner.nps.gov or 978.318.7822. We look forward to another exciting Battle Road event this year. Please stop by and say hello!
